Classic Chevy trucks were utilitarian work trucks when new and were almost exclusively fitted with a bench seat. Bench seats were a low cost seating solution with nothing more than a seat base, pivoting seatback, and a mounting bracket. Pretty much all the typical delivery or work truck driver would need for a day on the road handling their work route.
Today, however, is a different story. Modern Chevy trucks are more often people movers first and haulers a distant second. Standard today are bucket seats with a console and often such niceties as seat heaters, lumbar support, and more. As our squarebody C10 classic trucks start their second, or even third lives as custom cruisers many owners want that same modern bucket seat comfort and looks, but often getting a pair of C10 bucket seats installed where a ’73-’80 C10 or GMC version pickup bench seat once resided is easier said than done, until now.
For the popular ’73-’80 model years of third generation C10 pickup family (including GMC trucks) with factory low hump/no hump floor, you no longer need to break out the drill and modify your squarebody cab floor or use a universal C10 bucket seats mounting solution thanks to our direct fit bolt in C10 bucket seats frame kit. Designed and built right here at Speedway Motors from 1-1/4-inch mild steel square tubing for superior strength and support of most any design C10 seats.
Ride in Comfort or Provide Much Needed Support for Spirited DrivingWe all know that a bench seat is not the most comfortable seating, especially for long drives. Converting to bucket seating means having the ability to adjust your seat for the best driving position while providing a center console for additional storage, something a standard cab pickup is not known for. Additionally, if you are planning a street performance squarebody truck build or even something for autocross or road course duty, having the ability to install a bucket seat with lateral support, harness restraint openings, and more is critical as well. No matter your needs or reasons for converting to bucket seats in your squarebody C10, our bucket seat mounting bracket system is the perfect solution.
Simple And Easy Assembly That Works with Popular Aftermarket Bucket SeatsIt only takes minutes to get rid of your ’73-’80 C10 bench seat and install our new C10 bucket seat swap bracket for third gen GM pickups. Shipped unassembled, the bucket seat bracket kit is easy to assemble using basic hand tools and mounts using the factory holes in your squarebody pickup truck’s low hump/no hump cab floor. The assembly can be painted, or powder coated (ships bare steel) and includes assembly hardware as well as mounting hardware to secure to your cab’s floor and to mount your bucket seat sliders. Our squarebody C10 bucket seat swap bracket accepts most popular C10 bucket seats, such as our line of . Simply order the correct Procar for your C10 seats and bolt them down to our bracket! The seat mounting bracket is designed to accommodate the stock ’69-’72 , however custom consoles can be built to mount between your seats by anyone with the skills to fabricate such pieces.
Installation TipsCurrent design bucket seat mounting bracket will only fit properly on "low hump" or "no hump" floor pan stampings. These are usually found in 2WD applications and pickups with column shifters. If your 73-80 pickup is a 4WD or has a floor mounted shifter it most likely has a "high hump" floor pan and this hump interferes with bucket seat bracket center brace. If unsure of your floor pan design we strongly encourage you to remove your bench seat and pull back the carpeting to check for this hump stamped in the center of the floor pan right where the stamping kicks up for the factory bench seat mounting area.
