What you’re looking at here is the first unofficial artist rendering of what a convertible Subaru BRZ could look like.

Toyota and Subaru both unveiled their rear-wheel-drive sports coupe (the GT 86 and BRZ GT, respectively) at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show this past week. Scion also released its version, known as the FR-S, which will go on sale in the United States next year.

Neither Subaru or Toyota have confirmed a convertible version of their sports cars.

Refresher: Weighing in at just 2,689 pounds, the Subaru BRZ is powered a 2.0 liter 4-clyinder boxer engine making 197-hp at 7,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 151 lb-ft at 6,600 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Here is a photo rendering of what the next-generation BMW M6 could look like and we’re guessing it’s pretty close to the real thing.

Power for the 2013 BMW M6 is likely to come from the same engine as the M5 –  a 4.4L V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo making 560-hp between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 502 lb-ft from 1,500 rpm. It will also be mated to the company’s  7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission Drivelogic.

Rumors suggest that the new BMW M6 may even push closer to 600-hp – but we doubt that will happen.

Like the current model, the next-generation BMW M3 will be offered in at least three body variants including a sedan, coupe and convertible. While design changes are inevitable, changes under the hood will be the most major change.

Sources suggest that the next BMW M3 will drop its V8 engine for a twin-turbo V6 unit developing somewhere north of 420-hp.

It’s been less then a week since the 2012 BMW 3 Series made its world debut and already photo rendering artists are dreaming of the next-generation BMW M3 Sedan.

The BMW M3 Sedan, when it made its comeback with the last generation model, became one of our favorite M3 models ever. However, it’s been previously reported that BMW is thinking against even doing a sedan M3 variant with the new generation model.

The 2012 BMW 3 Series sedan will be followed by the coupe and convertible models in 2013. The BMW M3 Coupe will follow in 2014 and that in turn will be followed by the M3 Sedan – that is if BMW has made up its mind.

That allows 0 to 60 mph to come in just 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph (155 mph with Sport Line package). Power for the 2012 BMW 335i comes from the same N55 3.0 liter 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine making 300-hp at 5,800 rpm with a maximum torque of 300 lb-ft between 1,200 rpm and 5,000 rpm. 0 to 60 mph comes in 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph (and 155 mph with Sport Line package).

A new photograph of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe has popped up on the internet. Last month, images of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe hanging out in the garage hit the webs.

It seems like the new 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe now gets a more fluid design that is bringing it closer to the current Hyundai lineup theme, introduced by the Hyundai Sonata.

Word on the street is that Audi has some pretty interesting test mules for the next-generation R8 running our in Germany. Reports have suggested that Audi is also testing an R8 with a 2.5 TFSI and a 3.0 TFSi with rear-wheel-drive and an S-tronic match.

“It’s all part of Audi’s experimentation in downsizing,” one source says.

Whatever the case is under the hood, we’re pretty excited to see what Audi designers come up with for the Lamborghini Gallardo based supercar. A new image, courtesy of Fourtitdue, has popped up on the Internet and it apparently gives us a peak at what the front of the next R8 will look like.

The 2012 BMW 3-Series will be unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show next month but the new 3 was recently spotted during a photo shoot. These pictures were taken by a reader of F30post who spotted the car during a photoshoot in Spain.

As expected, the 2012 BMW 3-Series gets the updated design theme of new Bavarian vehicles, bearing a strong resemblance to the rear of the new 5-Series sedan.

2012 BMW 3-Series Spotted During Photo Shoot:

Some spy photos of a new Lamborghini Aventador have just popped up. Spotted in Sant’Agatha Bolognese in Italy, the body of the car can be clearly seen as an Aventador, but there are some specific details that tells us that it isn’t a normal Aventador.

The first thing that sticks out is the Bugatti Veyron wheels, which obviously came from parent company Volkswagen AG, who also owns Bugatti. While the normal Aventador comes with 19-inchers up front and 20-inchers at the rear with 255mm shoes at the front and 335m at the rear.

Those Bugatti Veyron wheels are 20-inchers and 21-inchers front/rear with of course slightly more rubber rapped around. For the larger wheels alone, we think that Lamborghini is in the process of making a harder and much faster Aventador. Makes sense since the base Aventador is just about to hit showrooms. Could this be the more powerful and faster SV version that Lamborghini has been known to release? Only time will tell.

Refresher: The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 will be powered by a 6.5L V12 engine making 690-hp and 509 lb-ft of torque. Mated to the company’s new ISR (Independent Shifting Rod) 7-speed transmission, 0 to 60 mph will come in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph. The Aventador is an all-wheel-drive supercar courtesy of Lamborghini’s Haldex 4-wheel drive system. Prices will start north of $375,000.

Sabino Leerentveld, a Dutch designer, has thrown together a rendering of a Hypercar concept that he dreams could be produced by Aston Martin.

Specs on the concept are scarce, however, it is likely to be front or mid-engined V-12. The model, if released, would most likely sit at a higher point than the Aston Martin One-77. Sabino also has a previous concept that he worked on, for the AMV10 .

Personally, I’d like to get some more specs on the Hypercar. As for the exterior, this well-designed concept could easily lead to a successful production car. Your thoughts, readers?

We’re not huge fans of spy shots since automakers go above and beyond to cover their upcoming models with heavy camouflage that makes it hard to see what the car will look like in actual production form. However, we are fans of keen-eyed viewers and consumers that come across a snippet of an upcoming model in material produced by automakers.

A member of GM Inside News forums has apparently captured a screenshot of a chassis on www.GM.com that could be the frame for the upcoming Cadillac ATS entry-level model.

From what we can see in the picture of the basic chassis, we can tell the vehicle is a rear-wheel-drive, four-door sedan that is currently not in production at GM.

The Cadillac ATS is scheduled to enter production sometime in 2012-2013 and will be built on GM’s Alpha platform.

We’re looking forward to the future of compact Mercedes-Benz models. The debut of the Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class at the 2011 New York Auto Shows debuted one of the most exciting studies so far this year.

Up next is the next-generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class, which will share a front-wheel-drive architecture wit the A-Class. A photo of a completely undisguised Mercedes-Benz B-Class has popped up on the Internet for your viewing pleasure and it seems to be a huge improvement over the outgoing model.

As you can tell from the picture, the next-generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class will keep its MPV feel, while the A-Class will go a more hatchback route.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is expected to spawn a coupe, sedan, convertible and a crossover.

What does the designer of Pagani Automobili do during his spare time? Draws up his vision of a brand-agnostic electric sports car called the Electrodinamycs Concept.

Antonio Bruno, the designer of the famous Pagani Huayra, has put together an electric supercar that proposes the idea of having four inboard-mounted permanent-magnet electric motors connected to the wheels by drive shafts.

If that’s not enough information for you, we have to apologize here since Antonio didn’t give anymore details about the car. We’re guessing he’s just having some fun.

Peter Norris of Rochester, Kent, U.K. works in the entertainment industry and studied transport design at Coventry University. He was also once the owner of a Fiat Coupe 16v Turbo that he held a great aesthetic appreciation for. Using this as his original inspiration, Norris decided to take on a personal design project.

His initial inspiration to create a modern Fiat Coupe felt constricting, due to the limitations the cars price point presented. This ultimately lead to the decision to take on the Pininfarina Coupe Concept instead. He elaborates “After roughing out the body in 3D I changed my mind and decided that I wanted to build something that was more of a luxury rather than a budget sports car and wondered what a car designed by Pininfarina under its own badge might look like, and so it evolved from there.”

The result is a rear-wheel drive sports coupe that maintains the essence of the Pininfarina, yet takes on bold new features, like C-shaped LED taillights and coordinating LED strips around the headlights. The front spoiler get air intake additions as well, and keeps the existing low-profile and sloping rooflines.

Ever since the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class revolutionized the automobile industry with its ground breaking design, other companies have capitalized on their success by adapting their own versions with great results. Some include the Volkswagen Passat CC, the new Audi A7, even the new Hyundai Sonata.

And while the “four-door” coupe design has been around for some time, BMW might’ve just jumped on board according some rumors. Some renderings were found that resembled much of the Gran Coupe concept that debuted at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show and it is established that the car’s production is under way. The car in the pictures seem fairly straight forward: it looks like an elongated and more streamlined F10 5er with the nose of a F12/F13 6er.

I absolutely love nearly every current example of a four-door coupe because the proportions often make the cars that much more interesting. And since the Gran Turismo 5er is struggling heavy under sales, this new Gran Coupe doesn’t seem like such a bad idea since these four-door coupes are the one of the new trendy “things” today. I’m not complaining. Not to mention, it shouldn’t rack up too much of a bill for the Munich make because it could share platforms and engines as well as other parts with other cars. And with the CLS63 and the Audi S7 on the way…can we see a CLS63, Audi introduce an RS7, and have BMW make an M Gran Coupe and see them duke it out? Keep it coming Bimmer.

It’s been too long since the last season of Top Gear. With plans of coming back in June, one would think that its cutting it close when the other Three Stooges were spotted in Tuscany, Italy just recently.

They were filming a scene for the new season and were next to three really hot hatches: the 208hp Citroen DS3 Racing, the 160-hp Fiat 500C Abarth Essesse, and the 200-hp Renault Clio RS.

By the looks of the pictures, it could be just another day in the neighborhood with the three mucking about and chewing each other out while they compare three cars. Whatever it was they were filming, we can be sure that the segment will be epic. Top Gear is said to return sometime in mid- to late June. I’m getting antsy…

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen leaked interior shots of the 2012 BMW M5 (and probably won’t be the last). Today, the wonderful Internet brings us three leaked images of the new M5 including a close-up of the gear-shift area, speedometer and the steering.

The 2012 BMW M5 will make its production debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September and will go on sale in the United States in early 2012.
