With all these three high-performance sedans arriving in dealerships within the next couple of months, we’ve seen many car magazines running a comparison test of the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG, Lexus IS-F and the 2008 BMW M3 Sedan. This time our friends at CAR give us their take on the three hotties.

Hmm, we wonder why they don’t pay much attention to the Lexus IS-F in this video?

Things are shaping out pretty well for Korean automaker Hyundai. After introducing its first engine about seventeen years ago, Hyundai now makes a variety of 4-clyinders, 6-cylinders, all the up to the Tau V8 that it will offer as an option on new Hyundai Genesis sedan.

Until 1991, Hyundai relied on Mitsubishi for engine technology, now, according to Dr. Hyun-Soon Lee, President of the R&D and Corporate Product Planning of Hyundai-Kia Motors, the automaker can build anything it wants.

We’re sure you’ve been seeing leaked images and all that good stuff on the new BRABUS tuning kit for the facelifted fifth-generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.

Brabus fitted its popular SV12S Biturbo engine in the SL 600 giving it a total of 730-hp and 973 lb-ft of torque. That gives the BRABUS R230 the ability to go from stop to 60 in 4.0 seconds or 0-124 in 10.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to an eye-watering 219mph.

A BRABUS tuning kit is also available for the SL 65 AMG with the tuners T 12 S kit that increase output to 715-hp with a peak torque of 811 lb-ft. For the S 63 BRABUS offers its B63 S tuning kit which increase horsepower by 40 for a total of 558. Also, for the SL 500 BRABUS offers its 6.1 S displancement that produces a total of 456-hp and 453 lb-ft.

To add an aggressive sporty look to the new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL, the BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop a sharp styled aerodynamic-enhancement kit, of which you can read more after the jump in the press release.

Mercedes-Benz announced a limited edition model for the new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG Edition. Te new exclusive SL 63 AMG Edition IWC was produced in collaboration with Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen.

Limited to production run of only 200 units, the new roadster features a designo magno Kashmir white finish as well as an AMG Exterior Carbon package with matte surface. The interior is fitted with carbon matte trim and Tobago Brown nappa leather upholstery. Power comes from AMG’s 6.3 liter V8 unit producing 525-hp mated to an all-new AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission.

Buyers of the SL 63 AMG Edition IWC will also receive a limited edition model of IWC’s “Grosser Ingenieur” watch. Mercedes-Benz will start taking orders later this fall with delivers scheduled for November 2008.

Carlsson has gotten their hands on the new 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and is offering a tuning kit for the SL 500 turning it into the Carlsson CK50.

The CK50 engine kit tunes the 5.5 liter C8 to produce a total of 435-hp and a peak torque of 443 lb-ft. That allows the Carlsson CK50 to go from rest to 62mph in 5.1 seconds with a top speed of 182mph. Carlsson says that it can also offer a tuning kit for the SL 65 AMG, or CK65 in Carlsson terms, with over 700-hp and a torque of 811 lb-ft. To further increase performance Carlsson is also offering a electronic C-Tronic® SUSPENSION lowering gear for the SL, which lowers the vehicle approximately 30 mm, reducing body roll and increasing the SL’s agility in handling.

Aerodynamics and appearance wise, Carlsson added a length-adjustable front spoiler lip, grille inserts made of electropolished stainless steel for the air inlets, gill vents with carbon supports, a new rear apron and a new rear spoiler.

Our lucky man Derek D over at Fast Lane Daily had the chance to get behind the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black-Series. D, you look kind of small behind the wheel. Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone, be safe on the roads tonight.

While gas prices continue to go up and the economy continues to go down, some could care less and would rather buy the fastest gas-guzzling cars on the road no matter how much they cost. Forbes has teamed up with Tom duPont to find the world’s fastest cars for their latest Top 10 list.

“A Bugatti test driver took a $100 bill and plastered it on the dashboard,” recalls duPont, who was invited to strap into the passenger seat for a demonstration drive. “He told me I could have it if I could grab it once we took off.”

As many of you know the amazing Bugatti Veyron goes from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 253mph.

“The car accelerates so fast that you can’t touch [the $100 bill],” he said. “You can’t move your hands.”

Mercedes-Benz announced today that it has delivered the 500,000th SLK since it launched the model in 1996. The first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK accounted for 310,000 units while the successor which was launched in March, 2004 accounted for 190,000.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled the facelifted 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLK in December of 2007. Technical specs wise the SLK 280 and SLK 55 AMG remained unchanged. The 4-cylinder SLK 200 Kompressor in the UK gets an extra 15 horsepower for a total of 184 with a fuel-economy of 30mpg. The V6 SLK 350 gets an extra 33 horsepower for a total of 305 with a fuel-economy of 26mpg.

Mercedes-Benz’s new 2010 GLK wasn’t scheduled to be shown until the Beijing Motor Show last month and wasn’t supposed to hit the roads in the U.S. until January of 2009. Nonetheless, the opportunity to showcase the car in a scene for the upcoming Sex and the City movie was too good to pass up for the German automaker.

It wasn’t all that easy for Mercedes-Benz to get a production version worked up from a prototype they had sitting in the Stuttgart factory. The GLK was transported to the Long Beach California just days before the shooting and was transported to Beverly Hills and was kept under a cloak until the cast and crew were ready to shoot. Mercedes-Benz had a special representative from Germany and its own team of 12 security guards on the scene at all time to keep the visual identity of the GLK from spy photographers.

But, where there’s a will, there is a way. Spies were able to get a pictures and videos of the GLK. Even Kim Cattrall was amazed by the interest photographers were taking in the car over her. Check out the excerpt of the interview she recently had where they questioned her about the GLK after the jump. We even added photos and a video of the GLK scene from Sex and the City which hits theaters May 30th.

It may sound stupid to you if we call any full-size SUV fuel-efficient but the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid and the 2008 Mercedes-Benz GL320 CDI are the two most fuel-efficient full-size SUVs currently on the road. And if you’re in the market for a gas-guzzling giant beast (and of course if you have the money to spend) we recommend these two.

The 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid gets an EPA rating of 20/20mpg (city/highway) while the 2008 Mercedes-Benz GL320 CDI comes in at 18/24mpg.

Power for the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid comes from a 6.0L V8 engine producing 332-hp and 367 lb-ft of torque. The Mercedes-Benz GL320 CDI runs on a 3.0L turbocharged V6 producing 215-hp and 398 lb-ft of torque.

Pricing wise the Tahoe Hybrid starts at $53,295 while the GL320 CDI goes for $54,225.

Earlier this morning we were just messing around with the Mercedes-Benz TV site when we saw this video of the premier of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz along with some detailed footage of the new compact SUV in action.

Refresher: The 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK will hit the U.S. in early 2009 powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 268-hp. 0-60 come in 6.5 seconds with a fuel-economy of 23mpg on the highway.

The Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series seems to be the constant talk of the town in the automotive world these days. The car has been spotted everywhere from the streets of Stuttgart to the famous Nurburgring test track in Germany.

What we know so far: Mercedes-Benz has already admitted that the SL 65 Black Series will be the most extreme Benz ever built. Power will come from a 6.0L V12 twin-turbo engine producing 670-hp with a peak torque of 738 lb-ft. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with two Sport shift programs with the second putting out quicker gear changes.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’s Zhang Ziyi seems to be Mercedes-Benz’s brand ambassador for the Chinese market. The Chinese actress recently helped Mercedes-Benz unveil the new 2010 GLK-Class at the Beijing Motor Show and is now showing off her driving skills in the latest SLK-Class commercial.
