Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has said many times before that the Italian automaker is dedicated to introducing a new model every year. Following the Reventon Coupe and the Reventon Roadster, Lamborghini is working on the Jota for next year, set to replace the Murcielago. The Jota will get a new a carbon fiber chassis with carbon fiber aluminum body. Power is expected to come from a 6.0L V12 with direct-injection making more than 700-hp.

According to sources, Lamborghini is also planning a model above the Jota, known as the Urus (and no we’re not talking about a production Lamborghini Estoque sedan).

Insiders say that the Urus will come to the market to compete with the Ferrari Enzo. The model will be based on a modified chassis that will underpin the Jota. It will be reworked to be light and dynamic as possible, reports CarUK.net. Power is rumored to come from a V12 making over 800-hp, allowing for a 0-60 mph time in the low 3 second range.

When can you expect to see the Urus? Not until 2011 and don’t expect to see it on the roads until 2012. The Lamborghini Jota will arrive sometime in late 2010.

Despite the fact that Los Angeles is probably one of the largest luxury market in the United States, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Bentley won’t be attending next month’s 2009 LA Auto Show.

“Bentley won’t have a presence in LA,” Dark Reuter, Bentley’s chief U.S. spokesman told The Detroit Bureau. Ferrari also said that it won’t be attending the show along with its sibling brand Maserati. Both have pulled their displays from the famous Concours Hall in Staples Center.

“It’s just the economy.  We’re cutting back on a lot of things,” the Ferrari executive said.

Well, that mean no Ferrari 458 Italia for us when we land in LA next month.

Lamborghini America LLC announced yesterday that it is launching a new finance program in collaboration with Woodside Credit and Volkswagen Credit, for the 2009 and 2010 Murcielago LP640 Coupe and Roadster.

“The Lamborghini Retail Finance Plan allows enthusiasts to finance one of most exclusive cars on the road at a more competitive rate than ever before,” said Pietro Frigerio, Chief Operating Officer of Automobili Lamborghini America, LLC. “We are pleased to continue our relationship with Volkswagen Credit as well partner with Woodside Credit, an established financing organization in collector and specialty cars, in order to provide several financing options to our clients.”

If you have a credit score of 700 or higher, you can enjoy a finance rate of 5.99 percent with a minimum down payment of 10 percent, low monthly payments and terms of up to 12 years. However, if your credit is above 740 and if you make a higher down payment upfront, the program offers a zero percent interest rate over a 60-month period.

Lamborghini announced today that it has opened a new laboratory in Washington, which will be responsible for developing future carbon fiber technology. The Automobili Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory (ACSL) at the University of Washington will work with leaders in aerospace and composite material development. The team will include the university itself, the Boeing Company and the Federal Aviation Administration.

“Lamborghini remains committed to investing in its future, and advancing carbon fiber composite technologies is the key to achieving many our goals,” said CEO and president Stephan Winkelmann. “As Lamborghini has long been influenced by aerospace technology, the University of Washington’s collaboration with The Boeing Company and the Federal Aviation Administration is the complementary fit to furthering our research and development programs that will continue to set the benchmark in carbon fiber technology.”

The Italian supercar maker made a significant financial contribution to ACSL and hopes to use the research to produce future models with lighter and strong materials.

The folks at ExoticsOnRoad.com have posted a picture of the four-door Lamborghini Estoque Concept traveling the roads of Germany. We’re taking a guess that this picture was taken by someone who just happened to pass by the Estoque during a photo shoot.

It was reported in March that Lamborghini had decided to put a stop to the development of the Estoque saying that “the timing and market conditions are just not right for an additional model line.”

However, a Lamborghini spokesman later clarified the report saying that the project is not dead but “no decision has been made to produce the Estoque.”

The Aston Martin Rapide competitor was originally planned to enter production in 2011. The Italian automaker was considering sharing the platform of the Porsche Panamera or the upcoming Audi A7. Power would come from either a 5.2L V10 from the Gallardo LP560-4, a V8 diesel or a V8 gasoline mated to a hybrid system.

After all the rumors and leaked shots, we can now officially bring you the most ultimate open-top two-seater we’ve ever seen in our lifetime – the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster. It will make its world debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show tomorrow.

Power for the Reventon Roadster comes from the same 6.5L V12 engine from the coupe making 660-hp with a maximum torque of 487 lb-ft. Mated to Lamborghini’s e.gear automated 6-speed sequential manual transmission, the Reventon Roadster can go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. What happens if you rollover at high-speeds? Lamborghini has fitted two pop-up bars behind the two seats that “deploy upwards in just a few hundredths of a second in the event of an imminent rollover.”

Lamborghini says that it will produce less than 20 units of the Reventon Roadster at its Sant’Agata Bolognese facility. Prices will start at a whopping 1.1 Million Euros ($1.6 million USD).

Mercedes-Benz will unveil its SLS AMG, McLaren will bring us the MP4-12C, Ferrari will show off its new 458 Italia and Audi will show us the R8 Spyder. Just leaked while we you were getting yourself a cup of coffee to stay away throughout the day is the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster.

Yes, we almost forgot about the long-rumored drop-top version of Reventon – but here it is.

So far, rumor has it that the Lamborghini Reventon will be powered by a 670-hp 6.5L V12 from the recently unveiled Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce and that only 9 units will be produced.

Lamborghini is working on a replacement for the Murcielago and according to reports coming out of UK, it will be better than the current Murcielago in every way.

The successor to the Murcielago will use Audi’s aluminum spaceframe chassis with a carbon fiber bodyshell, making it lighter, faster and more fuel-efficient than the Murcielago it’s going to replace.

Power is expected to come from a 6.0L V12 engine making 700-hp allowing for a 0 to 60 mph in just over 3 seconds.

Along with stunning performance, the Murcielago replacement will get stunning looks. It will be wider and longer than the current model with the biggest change to be the Estoque inspired rear.

AutoExpress says that the model will also “pave the way for future generations of hybrid Lambos.”

Heffner Performance of Sarasota, Florida has unveiled a new twin-turbo package for the Lamborghini Murcielago.

“As of August 2009 we have tuned the car up to 1 bar of boost which resulted in just over 1100 RWHP,” Heffner said in a statement. “For now we are playing around with the car at various boost levels and documenting the differences in performance with our trusty V Box.”

Heffner said that its twin-turbo Murcielago can go from 60 to 130 mph in 5.1 seconds at around 950-hp. Practical? No. Awesome? Very much.

Oh, and just in case you’re wondering, a stock Murcielago makes 580-hp and goes from 60 to 130 mph in 9.5 seconds.

We’ve been hearing about a drop-top version of the Lamborghini Reventon since March. In fact, just last month, it was reported that the Reventon Roadster was revealed to a select few; most likely clients with very deep pockets.

It is now rumored that Lamborghini will show the Reventon Roadster at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Of course it isn’t official until we here something from Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy – but we’d like to keep our hopes up.
