Phil Hill’s 1952 Jaguar C-Type to be auctioned off

The very first Jaguar C-Type to set foot on U.S. soil will be auctioned off at the upcoming Sports & Classics at Monterey auction on August 15. The 1952 C-Type bearing chassis number XKC-007 is the same unit driven by Phil Hill during the 1952 season. Hill won the Torrey Pines Road Races with the car.

Jaguar stops production of X-Type, lays of 300 workers

Jaguar said today that it will cut 300 jobs at its Halewood plant in the north of England as it stops production of the X-Type sedan due sluggish demand in the auto industry.
