The Free Press is reporting that General Motors is seeking a state tax break to keep corporate staff positions at its downtown Detroit Renaissance Center. 37 percent of employees not covered by the tax credits, roughly 1,500, could be transferred to other GM facilities in south Michigan. The GM Renaissance Center has roughly 4,000 employees.

CAMI plant to boost Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain production

In a statement released today, GM announced that they will be investing $C 90 million to re-tool CAMI Automotive’s West Body Shop plant in Ontario, Canada. According to DetNews, the investment plan will boost production of the GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox by about 40,000 units and recall about 150 laid-off employees.

GM to stop crossover production for a week due to parts shortage

General Motors Company will shut down its plant in Delta Township, Mich. for one week starting Nov.2 as it faces “critical parts shortage.”  The plant builds the GMC Acadia and the Buick Enclave crossovers.
