Yesterday, we saw a Bugatti Veyron being pulled out of a lake in Texas after a man, who wishes to remain anonymous, lost control of the ultra hyper car.

We now have the video of the actual accident taking place. The amateur video was taken by some man who happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Apparently, the owner was distracted by a low-flying Pelican leading him to jerk the wheel and veer into the lagoon in approximately two feet of salty water.

Owning a car over $1 million is a huge responsibility and probably entails a lot of stress.

Meet this Bugatti Veyron owner who dropped the ultra supercar into a saltwater lagoon near Galveston in Texas. Apparently the owner (who wishes to remain anonymous for many reasons) was distracted by a low-flying Pelican leading him to jerk the wheel and veer into the lagoon in approximately two feet of salty water.

The man escaped with no injuries. As for the Veyron, the engine reportedly ran for a quarter of an hour before dying.

A couple months ago, Bugatti celebrated its centenary year with the debut of the Bugatti 16C Galibier Concept at its headquarters in Molsheim. Bugatti today presented the concept to a select group of customers and “opinion-makes” in Los Angeles at the prestigious Ace Gallery in Beverly Hills.

Bugatti’s Director of Sales, Marketing and After Sales, Alasdair Stewart, emphasized that the Galibier is just one of several concept studies that the company is considering for the future of the Bugatti marquee. However, we’ve heard reports that the car has already been green-lighted for production with a rumored launch date of 2013.

Power comes from a 8.0L W16 flex-fuel engine with twin-turbochargers. Bugatti has not confirmed the final horsepower figures but it says that the model will be the fastest sedan in the world when it is completed.

Would you rather have English pop star Cheryl Cole or Megan Fox in your passenger seat? Also, would you rather drive a Bugatti Veyron or an Aston Martin One-77? That was the question a poll by MPH Prestige & Performance Motor Show asked 13,000 visitors to MSN Cars.

The result? Men fantasize about driving a Bugatti Veyron with Cheryl Cole more than any other vehicle or woman – including Megan Fox and an Aston Martin One-77.

Cole acquired 24 percent of the “perfect passenger” vote, while Megan Fox came in second with 21 percent. Jessica Alba came in 3rd with 12 percent followed by Jennifer Aniston with 11 percent, Beyoncé Knowles with 8 percent and Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima with 3 percent.

The Bugatti Veyron topped the “perfect car” list with 36 percent followed by Aston Martin’s One-77 with 29 percent. Ferrari’s California trailed behind with 9 percent followed by the Pagani Zonda R with 8 percent, Alfa 8C Spider with 7 percent and Koenigsegg CCX 7 percent.

Right before the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show rolled around, Bugatti unveiled a new concept called the Bugatti 16C Galibier Concept. The concept was said to be one of the several concepts that the company is considering for a future model. Well, according to AutoExpress, the 16C Galibier Concept has been given the green light for production with a £900,000 price tag ($1.4 million USD).

The publication reports that the production Bugatti 16C Galibier will carry the same 8.0L 16-cylinder engine as the Veyron and will be far more luxurious than its coupe sibling. However, it will still pack a lot of punch with a rumored output of 800-hp, which will be transferred to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Top speed is expected to come in at 220 mph.

So far, a launch date of 2013 is being rumored. Stay tuned.

We’ve been hearing about a four-door Bugatti for quite sometime now – one that would go by the name of Royale or Bordeaux. It was reported throughout the summer that Bugatti is showing a group of select-few individuals a concept that showcases a future model; however, it was said that Bugatti had no plans to show it at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. Apparently, they felt that a quite unveiling in Molsheim would generate enough buzz.

Known as the Bugatti Galibier Concept and inspired by the Type 57, the model made its debut in Molsheim this past weekend as the (and we quote) “most exclusive, elegant, and powerful four door automobile in the world.” If you’re thinking that this is what the next Bugatti model will look like – don’t jump to conclusions just yet. Bugatti’s president, Dr. Ing. Franz-Josef Paefgen said that the Galibier 16C is just one of several concept studies which the company is considering for the future of the Bugatti marquee.

Bugatti says that the Galibier four-door concept car was constructed of handmade carbon fiber parts “colored in dark blue so that, when illuminated, woven structure shimmers through strikingly.” The company says that the wings and the doors are polished out of aluminum and that the interior features a removable Reverso Tourbillon clock and that the “two centrally located main instruments keep even the rear passengers constantly informed of the actual speed and previous performance.”

So now let’s get to something you’re all wondering about. What’s under the hood of the Bugatti Galibier? We’ve been seeing leaked teaser shots of what has become to be known as the Bugatti Bordeaux – the company’s next model. According to Bugatti’s boss Dr. Franz-Josef Pfaegen, the Bordeaux is just one of the three proposals for the next model that will be unveiled in September.

AutoCar says that the concept will hint at a future four-door Bugatti. Pfaegen killed rumors that the production Bugatti sedan will be based on the newly unveiled Bugatti Mulsanne, which was launched at Pebble Beach this past weekend.

“A Bugatti saloon will have different dimensions and be a completely different concept. In fact it’s hard to find any similarities at all [with the new Bentley],” Pfaegen told Autocar. ”A Bugatti is designed and developed for a total volume of not more than 150, so that allows completely different materials and technology.”

Pfaegen said that any future Bugatti model will remain very exclusive as the Veyron.

Last week, Bugatti took the wraps off another special-edition version of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, called the Sang Bleu. The model, which celebrated Bugatti’s 100th anniversary made its debut at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

According to Auto Motor und Sport, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu is the last of the special-edition Veyrons.

Bugatti has reportedly built 250 of the 300 Veyrons originally planned for production. The automaker will now focus on its next project, known as the Royale or Bordeaux.

While you were probably waiting to see the new Bugatti Royale or Bordeaux, the supercar manufacturer today celebrated its 100th anniversary with a one-off special-edition version of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, called the Sang Bleu. The model made its debut at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Instead of going with another two-tone paint color special-edition model, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu features blue carbon fiber set against polished aluminum. The wheels of the Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu are highlighted in a Midnight Blue and Diamond Cut two-tone finish.

On the inside, the special-edition Veyron Grand Sport Roadster is trimmed in a new Gaucho leather.

Seems like we’ll have to wait until another major auto show even to see a new Bugatti.

Ettore Bugatti started his business in the Alsacian town of Molsheim in 1909. The name of the company: „Ettore Bugatti Automobiles i. Els.”. In 1956 the company ceased its activities. Earlier this month, a teaser showing a new Bugatti model hit the internet creating speculation that Bugatti was getting set to release a four-seater concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show with a Bordeaux badge. It was later reported that Bugatti will not be showing the concept in Frankfurt – instead, it was said that the Bordeaux is scheduled to be shown to Bugatti’s clients and dealers around the same time as the Frankfurt show. Confused? Yeah – so are we.

As we eagerly wait for Bugatti confirm something or the other, UK’s CAR Magazine has released a rendering of the Bordeaux; however, they attempt to make life a little more difficult by calling it the Royale (a name we’ve previously seen related to a Bugatti sedan).

“It’s one of two Bugattis pencilled into the product development cycle between now and 2018,” says CAR.

Look out for the Bordeaux / Royale sometime in 2011.

When a grainy teaser of a new Bugatti started making its way around the Internet earlier this month, speculations began that Bugatti will be debuting a brand new four-seater model called the Bordeaux at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. What’s true is that Bugatti is working on a new model – what remains to be factual information is that the car is indeed a four-seater Bugatti or successor to the Veyron.

Whatever it is, Bugatti confirmed to The Car Connection that it is indeed preparing to reveal a new concept to its clients and dealers; however, it won’t be until a couple of years that Bugatti actually produces an official model for the auto show floors.

We have our fingers crossed and hope that some pics will leak out from the centennial celebration of the Bugatti brand. The celebration will take place in September where Bugatti will show its dealers and clients the new concept.

We’ve already confirmed that the hazy teaser that made its way around the internet earlier this week was of the upcoming Bugatti four-seater shooting brake know as the Bordeaux. We know have a second teaser floating around the internet that gives us a better look at the rear-end of the car.

The Bugatti Bordeaux will be the fastest four-seater in the world powered by its two-seater siblings 8.0L W16 engine making 1,001-hp. 0 to 60 mph should come in just 3 seconds with a top speed of 250 mph.

We’re pretty sure that you remember the Mansory Bugatti LIENA Vincero - you know that Veyron that Mansory managed to tune to extract an additional 108-hp from (which we think probably made no difference to a car of such power). Well, we now have more photos and a video of the special Veyron from Mansory along with some pricing details.

So who’s going to buy this car? Well, the LINEA Vincero was created in partnership with Mansory’s Middle East partner “Prestige Cars Abu Dhabi.”Exactly – people who have the ability to throw down additional money on their Veyron to have the right to say “my Bugatti is tricked out by Mansory.”

We’re pretty sure you remember the blurry, hazy teaser we saw of a new Bugatti yesterday. According to AutoExpress, the teaser is of a much-rumored four-seater from the supercar brand scheduled to be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

So far, the model has been known as the ‘Royale‘ – however, AutoExpress says that the model will officially be called the ‘Bordeaux.’ What the heck does Bordeaux mean? Good ol’ Wikipedia says that “Bordeaux is a port city on the Garonne River in southwest France, with one million inhabitants in its metropolitan area at a 2008 estimate.” What connection does that have with Bugatti? Other than Bugatti being based out of Molsheim, France – we can’t think of anything.

Either way, sources say that the Bugatti Bordeaux will have a shooting-brake body style with horseshoe shaped tail-lights, a split rear-window, and a “dramatic central brake light.”

Power will come from the Veyron’s 8.0L quad-turbo W16 making 987-hp with a maximum torque of 923 lb-ft. That should allow a 0 to 60 mph run in 3 seconds with a top speed of 250 mph, making it the world’s fastest four-seater.
