While we’re pretty sure they have something final now, a designer by the name of Dejan Hristov is taking a shot at what another iteration of the Bugatti sedan could look like.

Of course the design is very extreme and out there like concepts usually are, but Hristov take remains close to the Galibier’s profile.

Bugatti’s work with the Veyron has been slowly coming to an end, leaving off with only rumors as to what the outstanding supercar brand could be coming up with next. But to make things far more interesting, Bugatti released some news stating that they just ordered two more years worth of Dual Clutch Transmissions, the same one specially made for the epic Veyron supercar.

Made and supplied by Ricardo, which is based in Leamington, UK, the news regarding the order of the seven-speed unit could mean that Bugatti is gearing up to release some new cars.

“Ricardo is really pleased to see a further extension of the partnership with Bugatti on the dual clutch transmission of the Veyron, a supercar that represents the ultimate in high quality automotive design, engineering and manufacture,” said Ricardo’s director of high performance transmission products, Mark Barge. “We look forward to two further very successful years in the story of this truly great automobile with its advanced Ricardo transmission.”

Details were sparse as to Bugatti’s reasoning for the order, though they were not specifically described. Considering the bits of rumors and trends floating around, the most likely reason could be that Bugatti is making a final version of the Veyron, which will ultimately signify the end of the car’s production completely

But at the same time, it’s not unruly to think that Bugatti is also finalizing a production version of their Veyron four-door, the Galibier.

Either way, we’re eager to learn what Bugatti’s going to come up with next.

The special edition Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport comes with a two-tone exterior with a yellow body and carbon fiber trimming. There are also black wheels with silver accents making us believe Bumblebee just received a big power and class upgrade.

On the inside, the color scheme is carried over with yellow leather and black trim.

Power comes from a W16 engine making 1,001-hp with a maximum torque of 921 lb-ft. Mated to a 7-gear DSG gearbox, 0 to 62 mph comes in 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 253 mph.

There will be only one model produced with prices starting at $2.03.

Hyderabad is pretty affluent city in India with a population of almost 7 million people. The nominal GDP of Hyderabad metro was estimated at $15 billion (USD) in 2010, so it’s pretty obvious the people that live in Hyderabad are pretty well off.

A motorcycle driver recently spotted a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport at Shamshabad International Airport in Hyderabad making an attempt to go over speed bumps. The driver obviously succeeded but it’s pretty painful to watch nonetheless.

“It is Bugatti’s intention to honour the very important Middle East market with this threefold variety and to provide its highly exclusive clientele in the Middle East an insight into how creativity and inspiration can be successfully driven to individualised luxury,” Bugatti said in a statement.

The first of the three special-edition Grand Sport models is a  horizontal color split with a bright yellow body and a underside in visible black carbon, including black-tinted wheels. The car features Bugatti founder Ettore Bugatti’s favorite color. The inside is finished in yellow-colored leather with black stitching and black carbon on the center console. Prices for this model start at 1.58 million euros ($2.15 million USD).

The second model is also a two-tone horizontal color split consisting of visible blue carbon, framed in polished, anodised aluminium. The wheels come in an aluminium polished and Diamond Cut two-tone finish. This Veyron Grand Sport also gets mirror-shine aluminum finish grills and air intakes. The inside features a nice tangerine leather and dark blue Indigo leather or exposed blue carbon fiber door panels, dashboard, steering wheel and console. Prices start at 1.74 million euros ($2.36 million USD).

Last but not least, the third Grand Sport model comes in a new green carbon fiber tone with polished aluminum. The rims, exterior mirrors and even the EB-logo at the rear are finished in polished aluminium. On the inside, this version features green and silver finishes. Prices also start at 1.74 million euros ($2.36 million USD).

Bugatti plans on making a total of 150 units of the Veyron Grand Sport. So far, only 45 have been sold.

Before Bugatti gets all upset, our headline is just a joke – the brand has no plans to build a competitor to the Aston Martin Cygnet for two reasons – first, it would be a horrible thing to do and second… well, Bugatti just doesn’t compete with Aston Martin.

Either way, someone, somewhere in this world is creative enough to turn there Honda Civic hatchback into something that looks like a mix between the Bugatti Veyron and the Galibier.

Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said that the Galibier sedan was now ‘in its second half of the design phase’ and added that he expected to show the production model to V-dub Group board before Christmas.

“I will suggest we continue development, but there will be some remarkable changes from the original concept,” Durheimer said. “The design will be different, especially from the B-pillar back, the ingress and regress to the rear seats will be improved, as will the legroom and ergonomics, the car will be a little longer, and the power of the engine will be at least four figures.”

Why is Bugatti planning a design change? Apparently customer clinic reaction weren’t that exciting. “Half of Veyron owners have been in the car already,” Durheimer  said. “You will still recognize the design from the concept, but now this is a design I can be 100% behind.”

Automotive magazine Motor Trend’s latest video featuring an 11 sport car drag race was quite an enthusiast crowd pleaser. Magazine Road&Track is now looking to create the same viewing pleasure with three cars that cost a whole lot more than all the 11 car’s in Motor Trend’s video together.

The company took the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911 Turbo S and pinned them up against each other.

Sources say that a decision will be made at the end of this year on the future of the Galibier. Durheimer has asked Bugatti’s engineering team some tricky questions about the Galibier’s comfort, utility and performance.

“In his opinion,” a source said, “there should not even be a question about the best car in the world when you sit down to discuss it with your billionaire buddies. “He doesn’t want to build it until it’s the car that finishes the argument, not the car that starts it.”

Durheimer, if you’re listening, we’re not sure those spending that much on a supercar are worried about utility.

Wolfgang Durheimer has taken over as the new chief executive of both Bugatti and Bentley as of this past spring, says the Bugatti brand will keep making the world’s fastest cars, as it is part of what the name stands for.

He also maintains that any competitor attempting to make a car to beat the Veyron will not remain on top for long, saying “We are always going to want to find out who runs the 100m the fastest. It’s the same with cars.”

Prior to his current position, Durheimer was the R&D chief for Porsche. Also a talented engineer, he continues to seek improvement in every vehicle. As for the Veyron, he feels “We would need to improve the aero, not the weight for more speed.”

Since the Veyron coupe is no longer in production, there is some debate over whats next for Bugatti. While VW is still unsure of the Galibier project, Durheimer feels “… that this will be the best car in its segment in the world. It will be claiming for outstanding design, the biggest series production engine with 16 cylinders and it will be the fastest limousine in the world.”

He also feels that there is a market within the brand’s existing business customer base. The Galibier would be fitted with Bentley trim and come with a hybrid powertrain.

No matter what the outcome of the Galibier, Durheimer still feels strongly about a follow up to the Veyron being built.

Bugatti is hard at work to make sure that their Veyron successor, the four-door Galibier, will be just as extraordinary as the Veyron it succeeds. In fact, the Volkswagen-group is putting so much effort into the new model, the Galibier could end up being a bit more expensive than the Veyron’s already commanding $1 million+ price tag.

“I am in discussions with the board,” said CEO Wulfgang Durheimer. “This will be the fastest limousine in the world, and have the biggest production engine with 16 cylinders.”

To make sure that Bugatti in general withholds the reputation as the manufacturer for the world’s fastest production cars, Durheimer said that they must retain a status.

“We should be thinking of a minimum of 1,000 horsepower for all Bugattis,” Durheimer added, suggesting that Bugatti will completely overlook any idea of a hybrid or other eco technologies in favor of Butatti’s 16-cylinder engine.

Only 100 Veyrons will be produced from now until it gets the axe so with that said, the Galibier isn’t expected to set sail until the end of 2013 at the earliest.

The Bugatti Veyron since day one has become one of the most iconic cars in all of automobile history. So it’s no wonder that a top of the line Super Sport edition just recently took the cake as being the most-expensive new car ever advertised.

Luxury car dealer Tom Hartley took delivery of a brand new Bugatti Veyron Super Sport with just 864 ‘delivery’ miles on the odometer. Limited to only 30 units, Mr. Hartley listed his Veyron Super Sport for £2.1 million or $3.4 million US.

The particular car that Hartley picked up was the second Super Sport ever off of the assembly line in Molsheim, France and was displayed at this past year’s Geneva Motor Show. Additionally, the customer who purchased this car also had some custom work done to it including a matte black finish and orange seats.

Hartley’s dealership also has a history of selling Veyrons as he once sold a Veyron Grand Sport convertible for £1.4 million or $2.3 million US.

2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport:

Not too long ago, we provided some insight to a new Bugatti model that could be taking shape to follow in the epic Veyron’s footsteps or er…skid marks…or er…tire tracks.

But now, we’ve received some word from Bugatti’s President Wolfgang Dürheimer and he says that the 2013 Galibier super sedan will be launched for sure in late 2012.

Just like the Veyron that the Galibier seeks to replace, the new model will feature a sixteen-cylinder engine that will produce around 789-hp to around 986-hp. Bugatti plans on selling about 1,000 to 1,500 units.

Pricing has yet to be announced but we could guess that the price would hover somewhere around the $1,440,000 mark as hinted by Mr. Dürheimer.

When people have money but just don’t quite have enough, especially to dolly up for the $1 million-plus price tag of the legendary Bugatti Veyron, yet relentlessly want the car, sometimes individuals would do the unthinkable in order to get what they want. And that’s exactly what 25-year old Mike Duff from Florida did.

But instead of selling his left leg and kidney for e Bugatti Veyron, Mr. Duff took a normal and complete 2002 Mercury Cougar and more or less made a “Cougatti Veyron.”

Using fiberglass, composite material and a tubular steel frame, the body of the faux supercar was professionally painted and fitted to the Cougar. And Duff didn’t stop there. In order to avoid having an interior that’s exactly the same as the normal, cheap insides of the Cougar, Duff festooned everything in genuine high-quality leather.

Duff said the car took him about nine months from start to finish. With the end results, Duff is selling his “Cougatti” for around $89,000, which is a fraction of the price of the original Veyron.

Unfortunately however, despite the custom body work that actually doesn’t look quite terrible, the lethargic 2.5L V6 good for 170-hp in the Cougar still sits under the front hood driving the front wheels.
