Top 10 World’s Fastest Cars

While gas prices continue to go up and the economy continues to go down, some could care less and would rather buy the fastest gas-guzzling cars on the road no matter how much they cost. Forbes has teamed up with Tom duPont to find the world’s fastest cars for their latest Top 10 list.

“A Bugatti test driver took a $100 bill and plastered it on the dashboard,” recalls duPont, who was invited to strap into the passenger seat for a demonstration drive. “He told me I could have it if I could grab it once we took off.”

As many of you know the amazing Bugatti Veyron goes from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 253mph.

“The car accelerates so fast that you can’t touch [the $100 bill],” he said. “You can’t move your hands.”

Top speed will be limited to 217-mph due to the convertible nature of the car, but that shouldn’t disappoint you much since we doubt you’ll be traveling at that speed on your daily drive to work.

Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermes revealed in Geneva

Bugatti Fbg par Hermes

After presenting the Pur Sang at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Bugatti is back with the ‘Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès’ at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Designed by Gabriele Pezzini in partnership with Hermès, the technical part of the Veyron 16.4 was left totally untouched while the car’s personality was magnified by a lavish and distinctive Hermès style.

The name “Fbg par Hermès” comes from the historic Hermès headquarters on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in the heart of Paris’s eighth arrondissement: the “Fbg” appellation evokes the house’s “faubourg” address.

The Bugatti Fbg par Hermès will go on sale at the end of 2008 with a price tag of 1.55 million euros. It will be available in two colors including ebony and étoupe, or ebony and brick.
