This is what Bumblebee’s Chevrolet Camaro body will look like in the next Transformers…it’s kinda’ hideous

Automakers like to do it up for the big screen because it’s like putting on a giant peep show for pretty much the whole world to see, without having to wait for a worldly automotive exposition to come around. Chevrolet can attribute part of their success with the rebooted Camaro to this aspect as the new generation of Camaro probably wouldn’t be as popular as it is now if it wasn’t for Bumblebee taking shape as the 2006 Camaro Concept in Michael Bay’s Transformer flicks. Yay product placement!

That said, it has become tradition for Bumblebee to don the body of the newest Chevrolet Camaro, so with the sixth generation Camaro just arriving, it should be as obvious that Bumblebee wouldn’t get it any other way.

So, Michael Bay himself decided to show off Bumblebee’s new bag to the world…and it isn’t really that great.

Bay didn’t really spare any specifics, nor does there seem to be any indication as to what specific model Camaro it’s based on, but all we can tell is that the bodykit just looks a little bit way overdone–a bit too boy-racer. For all we know, Bumblebee could’ve gone completely ricer with this one being Chevy’s basic model, complete with the Camaro’s new 2.0L turbo four, and an insanely edgy bodykit with HRE wheels–which really isn’t too far-fetched if you think about it, since Chevy’s high on advertising their new four-banger for the Camaro, in the name of fuel economy without a sacrifice in performance.

Overall, the design just looks over done and that gaping front grille and the protruding underlip make it look like Bumblebee has an underbite with a mouth that looks like a wide dustpan. The brake vents at the sides also don’t seem to do the design wonders additionally. It looks just…too boy racer.

At least they saved the car from a giant wing…oh wait…OK, it’s not giant, but it isn’t tiny either. Ultimately, we’d hope Bumblebee as least is a Camaro Z/28 or at bare minimum, a ZL1.

Michael Bay’s next Transformer movie is scheduled to launch in 2017 as Transformers: The Last Knight and it will be his fifth installment to the series.

Let us know what you think of Bumblebee’s new looks in the comments.
