Report: Top Gear’s new host Chris Evans supposedly rage-quit during the first show’s taping

It just seems like BBC’s new generation of Top Gear is off to an awful start as Britain’s The Sun reports that host Chris Evans had a rage-quit moment during the four-hour taping of the season’s first episode, in front of the audience, I might add.

I mean, we get it, it’s a pretty damn tall order to fill the shoes once occupied by the one and only Jeremy Clarkson–like that’s not a lot of weight on one’s shoulders…/s.

Evans suffered some stage fright it seems as he simply got fed up from needing to do 10 takes of the show’s intro. He got so fed up, he even started swearing and ridiculing the crowd’s posture in front of the camera.

Co-host Matt LeBlanc also felt the steam and the difficult chemistry as he struggled with his lines, reportedly. To rub salt in the wound, renowned actor Brad Pitt was scheduled to be the first star guest, but he apparently dropped out last minute. Jesse Eisenberg and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey instead took Pitt’s place.

Talk about a rough start. Nonetheless, teasers of the show have hinted at plenty of awesome car porn and other similar Top Geary content. Like Top Gear America, things just need to naturally play out as the production team works out the initial kinks.
