Volvo not too long ago revealed the S60 Cross Country at the North American International Auto Show in 2015, a sort of lifted and more versatile version of the lovely S60 sedan. So basically, it was a Volvo Outback sedan, similarly to how the Subaru Outback sedan was just a Legacy with more ground clearance and all-wheel drive.

One would think that with the popularity of crossovers around the world, the S60 Cross Country would be a hit. But that isn’t exactly the case in the UK, where Volvo decided to stop selling the S60 Cross Country due to slumping sales, and more demand for the V60 Cross Country, or the wagon version, instead.
AutoCar recently found out that the V60 Cross Country outsold the S60 by about 14-to-1, which totally makes sense, given Europe’s love for the wagon.
Could this also be a harbinger of things to come for the S60 Cross Country’s availability where in the US? Well, Volvo admitted to be limiting production numbers of the S60 Cross Country in correlation to predictably low demand when they revealed the model. Additionally, I have only seen one in person on the road.
