The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is the latest lightweight limited edition version we’ve been promised w/ video
Aston Martin finally revealed their latest lightweight and limited edition version of the Vantage that we’ve been promised through various teasers and some spy shots.
Meet the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 and like other limited edition and lightweight models, this one loses some weight, gains a little more power and a much more aggressive body and suspension kit. The last “GT” version however was built off of the V12 Vantage. This time, it starts life as a V8 Vantage.
So yes, it gets the same 4.7L V8 Jaguar-sourced V8 as the standard model, but it’s been massaged in a variety of ways to offer an additional 10hp for a grand total of 446 naturally-aspirated horses with the torque figure remaining the same at 361 lb-ft of twist. There’s a choice of transmissions, either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed Sportshift II sequential manual.
Compared to the normal V8 Vantage, the Vantage GT8 hits 62 in just 4.4 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster.
Other changes range from a revised bodykit that provides better cooling and aerodynamics at speed.
Only 150 will be made with deliveries beginning at the end of this year for customers in the UK only.
