2016 New York Preview: The Scion tC Release Series 10.0 will be the company’s last model ever

We can hear the weeps and sorrows of those mourning the inevitable demise of Scion…(actually, no, we can’t…). But for the very few who are, Scion announced to be producing one more version of the tC and it’s due to mark Scion’s last official new-car bow at an auto show in New York this week.

It’s called the Scion tC Release 10.0 Series and it comes with a whole bunch of extra options as standard as a way for the company to nearly go all-out with making one last hurrah.

For instance, it comes with a bespoke Barcelona Red paint job with a special Kei Miura bodykit. The latter adds some new lowering effects to the front and rear fascias, as well as the side skirts. A TRD dual-exhaust, blacked-out Scion badges and gloss-black wheels are also apart of the package.

The interior gets some similar red and black trim themes, unique floor mats and some special badging.

Under the hood, the tC however remains unchanged with a 180hp 2.5L four-banger with 179hp and 172 lb-ft of twist with the choice of a six-speed manual or automatic.

Only 1,200 of these last Scions will be made with deliveries commencing in June. And you’ll have to cough up $23,190 for one.
