Honda teases the Civic hatchback concept ahead of Geneva and it already looks great

Honda’s got some plans for Geneva next month as they plan to reveal a Civic hatchback concept for the world to see.

Now, the word “concept” should be used very lightly in Honda’s, and even Acura’s, case, given that both automakers tend to reveal concept cars that are near-production ready, and that has been the case with the Civic since the first concept was revealed. It looks almost like it’s been unchanged.

And we’re not complaining–the new generation Honda Civic is undoubtedly the best looking Honda Civic yet. Now, just imagine it with a long-roof and five or three doors.

Well, we’re not so sure about the three-door part, though that would be sweet since three-door hatchback Civics were once hugely popular. But the concept will certainly come as a five door, and thus, that’s what we can most likely expect for production.

The teaser doesn’t really expose much, except the new Civic hatchback’s lovely rear-end. But speculation does point to the use of the same new turbocharged 1.5L mill as the Civic sedan and incoming coupe, as well as a new 1.0L turbo three-banger for the European market with 127hp and 148 lb-ft of twist.

The US however will most likely do with the new 1.5L turbocharged four currently available for the Civic, which isn’t a bad thing at all.

So stay tuned for more info.
