Report: Volkswagen posts a 3.48 billion euro loss for the third quarter from Dieselgate

Things are still not boding well for Volkswagen as the corporation just reported a massive 3.48 billion euro quarterly loss as a result of their Dieselgate scandal.

That’s no small chunk of change.

According to a recent statement, Volkswagen’s earnings have been affected by 6.7 billion euros, while sales were reported to be down by 1.5% in the last month when compared to the same time of year in 2014. Because of this, Toyota was also able to regain the title as the largest automaker by sales and volume.

Volkswagen’s debacle with Dieselgate is far from over as investigations are still ongoing and around 11 million cars with the affected EA189 TDI engines are still in need of revisions.
