Video: Watch Ferrari detail the F12tdf’s honkin’ V12

Not too long ago, Ferrari revealed the next chapter to the F12 Berlinetta’s story with the F12tdf.

Packed with a significantly revised design, new technology, and an updated V12, the F12tdf is making out to be their most powerful and fastest V12 GT coupe ever.

Speaking of which, the engine was recently detailed in a new promo video on their YouTube. It boasts in increase of nearly 40hp and 11 lb-ft of twist over the outgoing F12 Berlinetta–as if the original wasn’t enough.

No turbocharging or supercharging here as the 6.2L racing-bred mill remains to be naturally-aspirated, displacing a little under 6.3L for a total mind-benind 775hp and 521 lb-ft of twist. The bump comes thanks to lots of hardware updates with the internals, such as race-inspired mechanical valve tappets with variable intake geometry for better engine response and intake flow. This is lifted straight from Ferrari’s F1 program.

New throttle valves within the body and a new inlet manifold also helps boost responsiveness as well as raising the engine redline to a whopping 8,900RPM, which is probably fast enough to generate its own gravity field. And amazingly, 80% of the torque is available at just 2,500RPM.

Check out the video after the jump and as usual, expect to be wowed by the magnificence that is a modern Ferrari V12.
