Report: Bentley is already considering a high-performance Bentayga “Speed”

Bentley’s taking their new high-performance approach pretty seriously, what with the new Continental GT3 RS and its variant sibling, as well as the Speed versions of the Continental GT.

Now, even though it’s not even on sale just yet, Bentley’s considering a high-performance version of the Bentayga to possibly one-up themselves, even though they already claim the titles of the world’s fastest, most expensive, and most luxurious crossover SUV ever…which is like saying you’re the best at making button fasteners.

Either way, AutoCar got wind of the possibility, thanks to Bentley’s engineering boss, Rolf Frech, leaking some information. When AutoCar prodded him some more, Frech replied, “never say never,” as if he was James Bond in his unofficial movie–yea, the last one Sean Connery every did.

Should such a project come to life, the Bentayga’s twin-turbo W12 would obviously be beefed up as Frech did decide to continue the chat, but only slightly to say the W12’s potential isn’t even fully utilized with its current form.

Does the world really need a faster Bentley crossover that offer’s more than the incoming model?
