Report: A new Honda Civic to debut on September 16 at two simultaneous events

Not too long ago at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, Honda revealed a jaw-dropping, eye-catching new Civic Coupe Concept and caught everyone by surprise.

As a result, it was only a matter of time until Honda was to begin sharing more details about the launch of the production version of the Civic Coupe Concept. Honda has a strong history of producing cars that closely resemble their concept visionaries and the same story is expected with the latest and greatest Civic Coupe.

Speaking of which, word fromĀ Automobile is that the production version should be launched simultaneous events on September 16th, one in Detroit and the other in Los Angeles.

There’s also a strong indication of a full-scale launch at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show in November, though confirmation remains to be withheld regarding that.

From what we speculate, the new Civic is likely to get a range of new four-banger engines, with one new 1.5L direct-injected turbocharged four, with the choice of either a six-speed manual or a lame CVT.

What we’re really excited for however is the arrival of the new Civic Si and further more, the Civic Type R. But we’ll have to wait until Honda shares the full beans with the world in terms of the North American spec cars. And that has us sitting at the edge of our seats.
