Report: A facelifted Ford Mustang already scheduled for 2018

The current sixth generation 2015 Ford Mustang literally just came out, last year as the current model year car.

But that didn’t stop Ford from looking ahead asĀ AutomotiveNews reports the Mustang is already slated for a mid-cycle refresh in 2018.

What’s to be expected? Just a series of revised visual upgrades to the aesthetics, mainly the front fascia. A new 10-speed automatic is also said to be in the works for equipping, to improve performance and fuel efficiency. Though there was no indication as to what specific models or engines the new 10-speed would be equipped to, but the report indicates there’s a strong chance it could replace the current six-speed automatic altogether.

In addition to the refresh, a new Mach 1 variant should surface at the same time to provide fans with a choice to buy a special model.
