Report: The Ford Taurus might not come back to the US

A new report is in from AutomotiveNews who heard that the Ford Taurus might not come back to the US. This wouldn’t be the first time the Taurus was retired from the US market as it was once replaced by the Five Hundred sedan. Though half way through its life cycle, it was renamed the Taurus.

According to the new snippet, Ford intends to end US production of the current Taurus without plans to introduce a new model due to low demand.

In China, the new Taurus is already in production there, where it’s selling reasonably well with enough demand to keep it active. Should there be any remaining demand for the Taurus here, Ford will just import what they make in China to the US.

If the Taurus doesn’t make it back to the US, it’ll still live in spirit since the new Lincoln Continental should be built on a modified version of the current Taurus’ platform.
