Mercedes-Benz loves to do things that are out of this world, besides AMG-ifying nearly every single car in their lineup. If the idea of an AMG Gelandewagen wasn’t enough for you, no problem, which is why they made the Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6.
Though Mercedes might not be alone in the attempt to make a bonkers, no-holds-barred desert stormer with more off-road capability than a Unimog as British tuning and coachbuilding firm, Kahn, decided to make their own rendition of a six-wheeled off-roader based on the Gelandewagen’s English rival: the Land Rover Defender.
Meet the Kahn Flying Huntsman 6×6, which is exactly what it sounds like–a crazily modified Land Rover Defender with not two, but three axles in total, tallying up the wheel count to six in total.
It’s not as good-looking as the G-Wagen 6×6, but certainly treads down the same path of ridiculousness, because, why not.
Obviously the Defender’s standard 2.2L turbodiesel four-pot isn’t enough to motivate the extra of everything, so Kahn decided to swap out that mill for a GM-sourced 6.2L V8 with around 500hp. That’s more like it.
Kahn didn’t disclose any performance figures, but should one have interest in acquiring the Flying Huntsman 6×6, orders start at £199,875 GBP, a couple ticks over $300,000 USD for us Yanks.
