Video: This clip of a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG being butchered at the crusher is…painful
We lied down…tried not to cry…but cried a lot.
Now we’re not sure what’s going on here, besides the obvious, and why.
But seeing a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a prized, limited production, and rare supercar, meet its demise in any way, shape, or form is painful to anyone who considers themselves a petrolhead. Especially, yours truly, who also happens to a major Benz-geek.
For reasons unknown, this video surfaced of what seems to be a lovely SLS AMG being butchered and ripped apart at the mercy of a good ‘ol classic Caterpillar handler.
Of course, it’s important to point out that cars like this are destroyed all the time behind public eyes, whether they be unregistered test mules or prototypes, totaled, or sustained heavy water damage. And that could very much be the possibility here. Though, from paying attention to the details, this particular SLS AMG looks to be of the US specification, with its amber-colored turn signals, and that giant Peterbuilt in the background.
Not to mention, we still think it’s a crummy way to go, especially when countless hours of hard-working Germans put their efforts to create this special automobile. And no matter the total value, those wheels could still fetch a pretty penny rather than just being mangled up into scrap.
Have a watch at the carnage below, if you really must. Just have a set of Kleenex on hand, or a garbage can for those with weak stomachs.
