Video: Which is better? The 2016 Mazda Miata or the Subaru BRZ? MotorTrend finds out

The all-new 2016 Mazda Miata is making waves and quite the impression. But how good is it when compared to the segment leader before it, the Subaru BRZ?

MotorTrend’s Head2Head¬†YouTube segment finds out with back-to-back driving impressions on both the road and the track.

For those who like to magazine race, the 2016 Mazda Miata comes with a naturally-aspirated 2.0L four-banger with 155hp and 148 lb-ft of twist, and it’s quite the featherweight, tipping the scale at just 2,296lbs.

The 2016 Subaru BRZ also comes with a naturally-aspirated 2.0L four-pot with 200hp and 151 lb-ft of twist, but it weighs a whopping 463lbs heavier. And that’s because it’s a much larger car as well, hence the extra power. But obviously, the Subaru’s four is of the boxer type.

Both come with a six-speed manual.

So, which one reigns as the victor?

Find out after the jump.
