Report: Is a Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat actually going to happen?

A new rumor surfaced regarding the Jeep Grand Cherokee by way of MotorAuthority and according to the latest development, a tip surfaced suggesting Jeep may actually get around to producing a Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee to sit above the SRT model.

Yup, you read correctly, prospects for a 707hp Hellcat Grand Cherokee are in the works.

Not much is known about this supposed Hellcat Grand Cherokee, other than speculation that it could be called the “Trackhawk.”

The idea would be slotting the Charger/Challenger Hellcat’s supercharged 6.1L V8 under the hood, with a ZF eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.

Given that this powertrain setup already exists for the Charger, chances are it wouldn’t be that hard to adapt the powertrain to the fitment of the Grand Cherokee.

What do you think of the idea of a 707hp Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee?
