Photo Renderings: Some strange photos of some unknown Honda model surface

Recently, some new patented digital renderings of what appears to be a new Honda or Acura sports car surfaced recently, stirring a buzz in the community that’s causing everyone to think that Honda’s coming out with a new sports car.

According to some recent reports, they apparently are. The new car is speculated to be a successor to the Honda S2000, however there’s a major difference. After observing the patent designs, it looks rather obvious that this new model comes with a mid-engine placement, which means Honda could be coming out with a serious compact sports car to sit below the halo NSX.

Not much is known, but Honda’s been rumored to be working on reinvigorating their performance image after the brand decided to favor fuel economy and value, following the end of a popular model, the S2000.

Rumor has it this new mid-engined sports car should be greenlighted for production and should sport a 2.0L turbocharged four, most likely lifted from the latest Civic Type R, which makes around 330hp. Driving the power to the ground will be Honda’s SH-AWD system in tandem with some electric motors for a total output of around 300hp. And knowing Honda, it’ll also be lightweight with an aluminum spaceframe and a weight of around 3,086lbs.
