Report: Hyundai to start a performance line with a new twin-turbo Genesis Coupe

Some big changes are amounting for the launch of the second generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

It didn’t exactly hit success with strides, provided it was a niche vehicle aimed at a very specific market, dominated otherwise by the Nissan 370Z. That said, Hyundai’s been rumored to be looking to change things up for the next-generation Genesis Coupe by moving the car up-market. For starters, the Genesis sedan was already reworked for the 2015 model year and serves as an excellent midsize luxury sports sedan.

So that said, the Genesis Coupe could follow a similar lineage.

Rumors in the past have indicated the arrival of a new twin-turbocharged V6 with the Genesis Coupe, netting around 480hp, according to Korean Car Blog. It’ll also be marketed under Hyundai’s apparent new performance division lineup.

We hop all these rumors reign to be true. At least, we know the twin-turbo V6 is happening because it’s showing up in the Genesis sedan first.
