Report: Audi’s Q7 e-tron should be offered in US and China as a gas-hybrid

Audi revealed one of the key variants to their all-new Q7 lineup, the Q7 e-tron hybrid.

The version revealed at the Geneva Show recently was of the diesel-hybrid type, one of the first of its kind to hit the mainstream market, but the first in its segment to feature such a setup. Diesel-hybrids are getting more hype because traditional modern diesel excel at providing good fuel economy. Combine that with a hybrid setup and in theory, you have a great duo.

But for those holding out for that great duo in the Q7 in the US, unfortunately you’re out of luck since the Q7 e-tron plug-in hybrid will apparently be offered only in gas form here in the US. But they could end up sending the diesel version here, eventually.

The total combined output for the Q7 e-tron TDI is 373hp from a 3.0L turbocharged diesel V6 and an electric motor.
