Report: Next-gen Jeep Wrangler to sport EcoDiesel V6 and eight-speed auto

It seems Jeep and Chrysler are listening to the hail of their customers for a new Wrangler, complete with a Fiat-Chrysler’s latest 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 and the brand’s now ubiquitous use of ZF’s eight-speed auto.

Rumors were floating around for a bit in pieces, regarding a possible diesel addition as well as the use of ZF’s eight-speed. But this is the first rumor that surfaced suggesting the two would be mated together for the next-gen model.

This totally makes sense since this combo is also available in the Dodge Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and the Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel.

Either way, we hope it reigns to be true. The idea of a diesel Wrangler always sounded good since yesterday.
