Report: Mazda’s keeping its new CX-3 diesel for its own market only

It seems they’ve been struggling to meet new emissions regulations for our shores with their current SKYACTIV-D engine because, well, they promised it to debut with the current generation Mazda6… But the 6 has been around for a couple years already, and we’re still waiting after several delays.

The same engine was potentially rumored to find its way into other cars like the Mazda3, as it is in Europe and Asia. Of course, there’s also the new CX-3. That too will come with Mazda’s SKYACTIV-D motor, but only for Japanese soil.
