Volvo’s new partnership with China’s Geely is resulting in the brand’s next generation of cars. That said, Volvo’s CEO, Hakan Samuelsson, spoke to Top Gear recently about their new Compact Modular Architecture, or CMA.
What does this mean? We should expect a new S40, V40, and XC40 from this new platform. It’ll be loosely based off of their new Scalable Product Architecture, which is what underpins the new XC90 and soon to be S80.
The first model to be launched should be the new XC40 with the S40 and V40 following afterwards.
