If you’re not aware that the new Audi R8 has an impending reveal, then you’ve been living under a rock for too long.
But if you are aware, then you shouldn’t be surprised that the first supposed official picture of the new R8 surfaced recently, thanks to CarScoops.
According to the report, CS doesn’t know for sure if the image is the real thing or not, but judging by the lines that match those found on the test mules recently, spied, this could either be the actual R8, or a pretty damn good rendering of it.
From what we know, the R8 shares its platform with the Huracan, like the last one did with the Gallardo. The engines are pretty much the same as well, but no longer is the V8, in place of one V10 with two different states of tune. There’s also a rumor that a new force-fed V6 could replace the 4.2L V8 while the R8 forgoes the manual option overall for a seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch box.
