A new Audi R8 is on the horizon for a reveal at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next month and AutoExpress was able to hook up with Audi at the Ascari race track in Spain to get a closer look at Audi’s rendition of the usable, “everyday sports car.”
It’s no doubt the R8 is built specifically as a different alternative to the Porsche 911 and with the Jaguar F-Type and the Mercedes-AMG GT in the mix, there’s even more pressure on Audi to perfect the R8 for the new generation.
So far, from what we’ve been able to see, the Audi R8’s typical profile remains, but with a more angled and edgier design to reflect Audi’s latest design language. Additionally, the new R8’s been rumored to come with only a V10 in two forms. The base model would get a 540hp version wile the R8 V10 Plus gains an additional 60 for a total of 610.
