Test Drive: 2015 BMW M5 by AutoNation
The BMW M5 is a sedan that’s immediately recognizable by name, being one of the most iconic cars ever made.
When it was birthed upon a rather simple concept of taking a normal, humdrum 5-Series and stuffing it with BMW M’s racing-derived 3.5L straight-six at the time, the recipe was an instant success.
Now, five generations later, the new M5 is 50 years old and it’s grown to be faster, more luxurious, larger, and thus heavier, than the original engineers ever intended. As you could recall from when we reviewed the current BMW 5-Series when it first arrived 2010 as a 2011 model, the 5-Series left much to be desired. Judging by the press reception of the M5 too, it is probably the least athletic model yet.
But that still doesn’t deny the fact that it’s batsh!t insane fast.
Head on over to AutoNation to see what they have to say about it.
