Report: Ford could extend its new performance all-wheel drive system across the range
In addition to the new Ford Focus RS as a whole, one of the biggest technical highlights is its clever all-wheel drive system, which CARandDRIVER heard could find its way in other performance vehicles.
Speaking with a spokesperson, C/D learned Ford has interest in extending the system’s applications to other cars. That said, the possibilities could be endless. How about a rear-wheel drive-biased all-wheel drive Mustang? Or a Fusion RS? Or even a Ford Edge RS?
Sounds quite interesting and enticing if anything. It also should be noted that the system in the new Focus RS is loosely based off of the one found on the latest Range Rover Evoque, compliments of GKN Driveline in Sweden.
But dang, we still can’t even get over the possible idea of an EcoBoost high-performance, all-wheel drive Fusion RS.
