Report: Bentley’s crossover could gain a “coupe” variant
Bentley’s new crossover, the supposed Bentayga, is one of the most anticipated releases of the near-future, mostly because it’s a first for the brand.
But if you haven’t noticed, crossovers have become more “stylized” to mimic the qualities of non-crossover cars, like wagons and hatchbacks, or even coupes, including the four-door kind. Some examples include the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE.
That said, Bentley might have an interest in following the same “coupe-like” crossover idea, according to Top Gear in the UK. Speaking with Bentley’s Wolfgang Durheimer, the new Bentayga might get a sibling to meet the growing demand for crossovers, even in affluent one-percent market.
But not only that, there could be another crossover to sit as an entry-level model. The result would be an additional two variants to Bentley’s original full-sizer.
It may have been not too long ago that anyone would’ve gawked at the idea of a Bentley SUV or crossover. But it’s becoming a reality since automakers have learned they need to sell lots of cars in order to survive.
