Report: Mazda plans on reviving MPS badge in Europe

Some exciting news is beginning to surface with Mazda where AutoCar reports the Japanese automaker plans on reviving their MPS nameplate for Europe. The MPS brand was synonymous with our MazdaSpeed, which gave us some notable examples like the MazdaSpeed Miata, the MazdaSpeed Protege, to the last MazdaSpeed3 and the first-generation MazdaSpeed6. And great examples they were.

But with Mazda fending for itself without the bolstering from Ford, they had to focus on their new mainstream models to ensure success and thus far, they’re succeeding. Recently, rumors began to float around about the impending arrival of a new MazdaSpeed3 with all-wheel drive. That just gets us all really excited.

This just further suggests that the new MazdaSpeed3 might actually happen. To add, another rumor also surfaced about the possibility of a turbocharged Miata. This all sounds amazing. Let’s just all hope it comes true. C’mon Mazda people…
