Get This: Black cars are now banned in Turkmenistan

It’s no doubt that in our world of politics, there have been some really twisted forms of legislation, whether it’s here in North America, or across the pond in Europe.

This latest story involves the small country of Turkmenistan, sandwiched in between Iran, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan and there, the current dictator, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, recently took the title as enacting one of the most odd import bans ever–the banning of black cars from being brought into the country.

Apparently, such odd rulings are not a stranger to the country and this was incurred after Berdimuhamedov (try to say that fast five times in a row) changed the state limousine’s color to white from black. As a result, all subsequent 160 government and media fleets followed suit, changing their color from black to white.

With a dictatorship, such totalitarianism doesn’t sound too far-fetched.
