Report: Chevy denies Corvette Z06 did the ‘Ring in less than seven minutes

So someone out there made a little goof and claimed the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 did the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife in less than seven minutes, which is a pretty serious claim.

HorsepowerKings reportedly said the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with the eight-speed automatic did a lap of the Green Hell in less than seven minutes, which makes it only two seconds slower than a Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach. A bit outlandish ain’t it, especially since Chevrolet’s been fairly quiet about it?

However, it turns out to be false since Chevrolet responded, saying the claim is false. This doesn’t seem all that unusual since Nurburgring lap times are held to a really high regard.

So far, Chevy’s only had a chance to run two videotaped laps of the ‘Ring, both times were rained out.

Ok, so the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 doesn’t run with the Porsche 918…but that doesn’t mean it won’t be fast.
