Report: Toyota and Lexus to introduce more crossovers to meet demand
It’s without a doubt that the crossover is one hot commodity and it’s even becoming more popular as Bloomberg reports Toyota and Lexus are gearing up to introduce more crossover models to meet surging demand. As if they weren’t already popular enough.
According to the report, sales in general were up 16 percent last year for crossovers and CUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and the Lexus RX.
And because they’re still observing an upward trend with the crossover, Toyota’s Jim Lentz said Toyota could be offering even more choices to keep up with competition and the desires of customers.
Lentz didn’t share specifics, but he hinted that Toyota might introduce a new crossover model below the RAV4 as an example since the market is still pretty void of subcompact and affordable crossovers.
