Report: A new Audi R8 and R8 e-tron to surface at Geneva

CarAdvice from down yonder recently received confirmation from Audi’s technical director, Ulrich Hackenberg, that a new R8 and R8 e-tron are due for a launch at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show in March.

The Audi R8 has been known to be in the works for the second generation, which includes a production version of the all-electric e-tron version, after a rather interesting back-and-forth battle between being approved for production and being sacked.

Unfortunately, drivers would be upset to hear that the new R8 might not come with a manual transmission for the new generation simply because dual-clutch automatic technology has basically rendered the manual obsolete, for the sake of performance.

As for the R8 e-tron, the all-electric usable supercar is said to be getting a range of up to 248 miles on a single charge.
