Adding to the mix of new technologies in the next 7, which include the latest techniques of saving weight from using exotic materials and manufacturing techniques and semi-autonomous driving functions, is the apparent choice to have a separate infotainment system for front passengers, according to Auto Motor und Sport.

Supposedly, the front passenger seat is expected to get its own infotainment interface while the driver can choose his or own source of infotainment, to avoid any conflict in the car accessing applications or other services within the car’s internal computer.

The next 7-Series is also expected to debut with BMW’s new autonomous self-parking system, due for a reveal at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
