Report: Porsche’s 718 project may be dead, but 718 name to carry on

Recently, AutoCar heard the Porsche 718 project was sacked. But that same day, a report later came in from Automobile Mag, which said, while the project may be dead, the 718 name might still live on to be the name of the next-generation 718 Boxster and Cayman combo.

Originally, the 718 was going to be a new entry level model from Zuffenhausen but now, the 718 may not be dead after all.

Either way, this also paves the possibility that the next gen Boxster and Cayman successors could come with potent four-cylinder engines to make the model more accessible.
