Report: Volvo’s next S90 and V90 to be styled after Concept Estate

Some good news in from Sweden as DigitalTrends reports Volvo’s new S80 successor, the S90, will be modeled after Volvo’s recent Concept Estate. But there will also be a return of a large wagon, ever since the V70 was retired, and it should revive the V90 nameplate.

Both the S90 and V90 were also late 1990s last-generation models of the classic 900-Series, Volvo’s last ever rear-wheel drive vehicle. And according to this latest report, the new S90 and V90 should look like “near carbon copies” of the Concept Estate. Providing the starting point for these two new models is the brand’s latest SPA global architecture and the S90 and V90 should most likely get similar powertrains to the new Volvo XC90.
