Report: Nissan’s IDx Concept could lead to a Silvia/200SX successor

Motoring in Australia reports Nissan’s IDx Concept could eventually lead to a Silvia successor.

Not too long ago, Nissan revealed the IDx Concept as a pitch at a possible compact rear-wheel drive sports coupe that’s lightweight with small and efficient engines. It would be a close competitor to the Toyota GT 86 trio and would essentially act as the 370Z’s little brother.

However, the concept is sort of stuck in limbo as Nissan is unsure about approving the IDx for production. To retest the waters, Nissan is believed to be revealing a revised IDx Concept at the 2015 Tokyoa Motor Show next October. Should all go well, a launch in 2017 should happen in addition to there being a high-performance NISMO version.
