Report: Ford to debut the next GT successor in Detroit, to pack 600hp

CarScoops heard of more exciting news for Detroit as Ford is planning to reveal a new GT at the Cobo, featuring more than 600hp, in addition to other models showing up like the new Shelby Mustang GT350R.

The new GT is supposedly going to be a limited production model with only 1,200 units being built. Power should be provided by, surprisingly, an EcoBoost V6 that’s been massaged to provide that aforementioned 600hp, rather than the outgoing model’s supercharged 5.4L V8.

It’ll also celebrate Ford’s 50th anniversary of their victory at 24 Hours of Le Mans with the original GT and coinciding with past reports and rumors, Ford is also building the new GT to reenter Le Mans.
