Report: Chevrolet says future models to be styled after Corvette C7

AutomotiveNews recently spoke with some reps at General Motors who said that we should expect more of Chevy’s future models to influenced by the latest C7 Corvette.

Additionally, the news outlet sat down with GM’s head of global design, Ed Welburn, who said the Stingray’s styling should be seen in the next-gen Malibu, Cruze, and Volt as they’ll be the first cars to implement the new styling. The idea is to convey the theme of “taut, very lean, very sporty.”

Some of Chevrolet’s design cues have been criticized, such as the rework of the Camaro’s head- and taillights or the Corvette’s awkward taillights. But Welburn says the new look will complement the lineup in a very positive way.

We’ll catch a glimpse of this new design language with the revealing of the next-gen Volt at the Detroit Auto Show and the Malibu a few months after.
