Video: Archived footage of the 1987 Chicago Auto Show is a totally rad time capsule

The 1980s may be a hit or miss for some, depending on who you talk to. But for the American automobile industry, it was largely a miss and this footage of the 1987 Chicago Auto Show pretty much reminds us why.

AutoBlog’s Brandon Turkus brought these videos to light following come brief comments about how he believes the 1980s becomes one of those eras that was just left forgotten. Others may agree.

But either way, this footage from the ’87 show in Chi’town is nothing short of epic and entertaining. Get ready to cringe and laugh with some of the additional footage we sourced from other years–from the loathed Chrysler K-Cars to the infamous Cadillac Cimmaron, and the Chevy Footlockers!. Have a look at it all on the Chicago Auto Show’s YouTube channel.
