Report: Cadillac CT6 to be unveiled at the New York Auto Show next year

AutomotiveNews received from confirmation from Cadillac that the all-new CT6 sedan should surface at the New York Auto Show next year, which occurs in April.

The CT6 is the first car to adopt Cadillac’s new naming system, where all non-crossover models receive the CT moniker, plus a number to signify their placement in the lineup–the greater the number, the greater the car. Crossovers will get the XT name.

The new CT6 is said to continue leading Cadillac into a new direction to once again become a serious worldly competitor in the luxury automobile market and following the CT6 is a new SRX-replacement–a very important model for the brand.

Not much is known about the CT6, but it’s said to ride on the same rear-wheel drive platform as the ATS and the CTS. While it is destined to be a luxury sedan of the full-size group, it’s not expected to be the flagship as rumors of an even more expensive halo model have surfaced.
