If you ever took delivery of The New York Times on a Sunday and you are a car enthusiast, you would have a great day since the Sunday issue would always be complemented by an Autos section. But in a recent report from Capital New York, word is the NYTimes will be killing off its Autos section after showing up every Sunday for nearly 20 years.
The reason for the ending of the Autos section comes down to The New York Times streamlining its works in order to stay afloat–and part of this is from the unfortunate disappearance of print media thanks to websites like yours truly. It truly is a sad transition.
There were no specifics as to what would happen to the staff involved with the Autos section, including longtime automotive editor, Jim Cobb and deputy Norman Mayersohn. Either way, from one auto journalist to the other, we at egmCarTech wish them the best.
