Report: Mercedes-Benz confirms revival of “Maybach,” to debut with S-Class limo in LA

Ever since word of an S-Class limousine straight from the factory surfaced, there was much debate as to what it would be called. By tradition, it would receive something like Pullman or Maybach. But Maybach doesn’t exactly have the greatest reputation and wasn’t much of a success.

Despite this, Mercedes-Benz apparently confirmed to be reviving the nameplate for that new S-Class limo. CARandDRIVER heard of its debut at this up and coming Los Angeles Auto Show next month. Speaking with Mercedes’ global head of design, Gordon Wagener, the S-Class limo should be about 5500mm long or 18 feet long, with the extra space going into the wheelbase.

Not much else is known, but for now, the S-Class limo will now be known as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Maybach.
